In 2017 we were contacted by Amega to produce a cinema room with the properties to do a 2 million Sek system justice, in terms of sonic performance.
The speakers are line sources and make great demands on reflection control. On top of that the eight 18 inch woofers needed to be tamed. The sub system is designed to go down into the infrasound region, and no buttkickers is needed. System output is flat down to 4Hz with potential of over 125dB continous operation.
The system is a full 7.2.4 Atmos setup, delivering a truly immersive experience.
Sounds of Science have blended this custom room with absorbers and custom designed diffusers. Speakers are hidden behind acoustical transparent fabrics and screen. Thus making the design seamless.
Beyond the troublesome strong early reflections the bass performance was a crucial task. With limited volumes for bass trapping the options were limited. The solution were made with a partially lowered ceiling and specially designed projection booth, which fires from under the rear row of seats.
The room will be open to the public from 24th of November.
